Professional Studio

Located in a concrete basement, my acousticly treated isolated vocal booth has a surface area of 40 square feet (3.72 square meters) and is 2.10 meters high (interior).

The 6 1/4-inch walls are made of several layers of 5/8-inch-thick gypsum board and 3/4-inch acoustic panels (Sonopan), all mounted in a staggered pattern on a metal structure (every 24 inches) with acoustic insulation (Roxul).

The ceiling, mounted on resilient bars (suspended), is also made of several layers of the materials mentioned above.

The entire structure (walls/ceiling/junctions) is sealed, at each stage and layer, with acoustic sealant (Acoustiseal).

​Inside the isolated vocal booth:

• 3-inch thick acoustic foam surfaces

• Bass traps in corners

• Raw wall panels (sound clarity)

• Fabric acoustic panel to absorb any reverberation on the large solid wood door panel

• Floor: carpet on concrete floor

• Neumann TLM 103D microphone (Digital - S/Pdif connection)

• Rode NT1 5th Gen. (Mobile studio mic)

• Rode PSA1 articulated boom arm

• Customized Rode SMR shockmount

• Metal anti-pop filter

• Rycote Lyre suspension system

• Tascam US144 MKii external soundcard (S/Pdif connection)​

• Audio Technica M30 headphones (1 inside the studio, 2 in the control room)

• 2*27inch monitors

• Bluetooth keyboard + vertical mouse

The control room has two workstations:

• One PC with two 27-inch 4K screens (editing/mixing/editing/...), a microphone and closed-back headphones for communicating with the person in the booth and working on live recordings if necessary

• Since the control room and booth are connected to each other, it's easy to work solo from the booth or as a duo between the booth and the control room.

• One independent PC with one 27-inch screen for teamwork on large projects.

Cables connect the audio equipment to the external control room (insulated conduit), and the studio and control room can communicate with each other.
